    How to get there
    I flew directly from Barcelona to Iceland with Icelandair at the end of August. The weather was still relatively warm for Iceland, making the arrival pleasant and comfortable.
    For those planning a trip, June and July tend to offer the most pleasant and stable weather, perfect for outdoor activities and sightseeing. 


    Highlights of my trip
    This journey through Iceland was nothing short of spectacular, filled with awe-inspiring natural wonders at every turn.
    Exploring the Golden Circle was a true highlight, where I witnessed the stunning landscapes of Þingvellir National Park—where continents literally drift apart—marveled at the raw power of Gullfoss waterfall, and felt the earth’s energy at the erupting springs of Geysir geothermal area. Each location told a story of Iceland’s unique geological and cultural heritage.


    Yet, Iceland’s weather reminded me who’s really in charge. On day three, a fierce storm rolled in, disrupting plans and adding an unpredictable twist to my adventure. The kayak tour at Diamond Beach was sadly canceled due to rough conditions, and the helicopter tour had to be postponed, showing just how wild and uncontrollable nature can be here.
    Still, Reynisfjara Beach left an indelible mark on me—its mystical black sands and giant basalt columns are breathtaking, but the powerful and dangerous waves serve as a bold reminder to respect this wild beauty.


    The helicopter tour near Reykjavík turned out to be an extraordinary highlight; soaring over volcanic craters and rugged landscapes from above gave me a perspective of Iceland’s dramatic beauty that was simply unforgettable.
    Being a true foodie, I also fell in love with Icelandic cuisine—especially the tender lamb tartare and the rich, flavorful seafood soups, which perfectly captured the freshness and quality of local ingredients.

    Iceland is a dream destination for those who crave adventure and love the great outdoors. It’s perfect for hiking enthusiasts ready to tackle rugged trails, those who enjoy long walks through breathtaking scenery, and seekers of thrilling activities like climbing and exploring volcanic landscapes.


    However, the island’s famously unpredictable weather means it’s essential to plan carefully, especially if traveling with disabilities or small children. That said, Iceland offers many ways to travel comfortably with kids, making it a fun and rewarding family destination.
    Whether you’re traveling with friends, as a family, or looking for a romantic escape, Iceland delivers unforgettable experiences. Couples will find it a magical backdrop for romance, while adventure lovers will thrill to its raw, untamed wilderness.     Also, Iceland’s weather can change suddenly, so wearing many layered clothes is a smart choice—it lets you stay comfortable no matter what the skies do.

    Istanbul

    Turkey

    During my stay in Istanbul, I chose the Conrad Istanbul Bosphorus, a five-star hotel that perfectly blends comfort, luxury, and convenience. Its location is ideal: close enough to the city’s main attractions yet far enough to offer peace and quiet after a day of exploring. The service at the Conrad was exceptional, with staff who were attentive, welcoming, and always ready to assist. 
    One of the highlights of the hotel is Manzara, a restaurant serving delicious traditional Turkish cuisine with a refined twist. For unforgettable evenings, the Summit Bar & Terrace offers panoramic views of the Bosphorus—a perfect spot for cocktails while watching the sunset paint the water in gold. 


    Trip highlights
    Though I only had three days in Istanbul, I packed in as much as possible to experience the city’s magic. We started at the iconic Blue Mosque, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture with free entry and profound significance to Turks. I then explored the Basilica Cistern, an atmospheric underground wonder that felt like stepping into a hidden world—mysterious, majestic, and filled with stories of the past. (Insider tip: Istanbul has several cisterns worth seeing, and for a quieter experience, smaller ones often have shorter lines.)


    I also highly recommend Galataport, a beautifully redeveloped modern port area with stylish shops, elegant restaurants, and a stunning promenade along the Bosphorus. No visit to Istanbul would be complete without a Bosphorus cruise, especially at sunset when the city glows under the shifting colors of the sky. 
    The weather in June was perfect during the day but could get chilly at night—so pack a light jacket to stay comfortable. 
    Overall, Istanbul left an indelible impression with its unique atmosphere: a vibrant mix of crowds, history, tradition, modernity, and bright expressions of Muslim culture. 
    Who should visit
    Istanbul is an unmissable destination for history lovers, who will find endless fascination in exploring the layers of old Byzantium and Ottoman heritage. I strongly recommend spending at least a week if you want to truly dive deep into the city’s historical treasures. 


    For foodies, Istanbul offers a culinary adventure like no other; Turkish cuisine is uniquely flavorful, diverse, and unforgettable—don’t miss restaurants like Manzara and Seraf Vadi for outstanding dining experiences.

    Adventurers will love Istanbul’s dynamic energy, winding streets, and surprises at every turn. The city is ideal for travelers seeking a blend of romance, culture, and discovery, offering memorable days packed with exploration and nights filled with vibrant city life. 
    Whether you’re captivated by ancient architecture, enchanted by Eastern flavors, or eager to cruise between two continents, Istanbul promises an experience that’s both profound and exhilarating.

    Need to know
    Taxis & transportation: For safe, reliable transportation, I strongly recommend using taxis booked through the Uber app or arranging a taxi directly through your hotel. This minimizes the risk of fraud or being overcharged, which can unfortunately happen with street-hailed taxis.
    Sweet treats: A trip to Istanbul isn’t complete without indulging in authentic Turkish sweets. Make sure to visit Hafiz Mustafa, a legendary spot renowned for its delicious Turkish delights, baklava, and pastries—a must for anyone with a sweet tooth.
    Traditional hammam: Experiencing a Turkish bath (hammam) is an unforgettable cultural highlight. I personally visited Cağaloğlu Hammam, one of Istanbul’s historic baths known for excellent service, authentic ambiance, and a relaxed environment that wasn’t crowded during my visit. It’s the perfect way to unwind and immerse yourself in centuries-old Turkish traditions.

    Phu Quoc

    Vietnam

    How to get there
    Traveling to Phú Quốc is convenient and straightforward. The island is served by Phú Quốc International Airport (PQC), a modern and efficient facility that connects easily to both domestic and limited international routes. We flew in from Ho Chi Minh City, with a flight time of just over an hour. Upon arrival, a pre-booked transfer was ready and waiting for us at the terminal. The transfer process was quick and smooth, and we appreciated not needing to arrange anything last-minute upon arrival.


    Accommodation
    We chose to stay at the Radisson Blu Resort Phú Quốc, which offered both a peaceful setting and a high standard of service. The resort is spacious and well-maintained, with a wide range of amenities including a large pool, wellness center, and its own private, wide beach. The overall design is elegant but relaxed, which suited the tone of our trip perfectly.
    We opted for a two-bedroom villa, which provided both comfort and privacy. The villa included a private pool, modern interior, and a quiet garden area—a great fit for couples or families wanting a bit more space. The setup allowed us to fully unwind while still enjoying easy access to the resort’s main facilities. (Image attached.)
    Dining at Radisson Blu was another highlight. The all-inclusive meal plan included breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the variety was impressive. We had access to both European-style dishes and traditional Vietnamese cuisine, all thoughtfully prepared. The quality remained consistent throughout our stay, and the service in the restaurants was professional and attentive.

    Highlights of our trip
    Phú Quốc offers a good mix of in-resort activities and sightseeing options. At the resort, we took part in a painting class, which was a quiet and creative way to spend an afternoon. Each guest received a personal painting to take home—a thoughtful souvenir and a unique memory from the trip.


    Beyond the resort, there are several attractions I would recommend:
    VinWonders World: A large, well-organized amusement park with themed zones, rides, and entertainment suitable for various age groups.
    Aqua Park: An enjoyable option for those looking to stay active, particularly for families or groups.
    Phú Quốc cable car: This is one of the longest sea-crossing cable cars in the world and offers striking views of the surrounding islands and coastline. A great way to appreciate the area from a different perspective.
    These excursions were easy to arrange, and all were well-run and worthwhile. Combined with the natural beauty and calm rhythm of the island, they contributed to a well-rounded and enjoyable experience.
    Who should visit
    Phú Quốc is well-suited to couples, honeymooners, and families looking for a destination that combines comfort, natural scenery, and quality service. The island offers the space and tranquility many travelers seek, without sacrificing access to reliable infrastructure and good hospitality.
    For clients considering Vietnam but unsure where to begin, Phú Quốc is a destination I would confidently recommend. It works well as a stand-alone trip or as a relaxing extension after visiting cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. Radisson Blu Resort is an excellent base, particularly for those wanting high-standard accommodations with thoughtful service and on-site convenience.

    Phú Quốc, Vietnam’s largest island, offers a well-balanced mix of relaxation, cultural interest, and comfort—making it a strong choice for couples and families alike. I visited in April, which turned out to be an excellent time: the weather was consistently warm and sunny, but the island was quieter than during peak season. The atmosphere was calm and unhurried, ideal for a romantic getaway.
    While Phú Quốc is best known for its beaches and resorts, it’s also a great place to explore some of Vietnam’s traditional industries. I recommend visiting one of the local pearl farms—the island has a long history of pearl cultivation, and you can learn about the process from oyster to finished jewelry. The quality is impressive, and prices are often more competitive than what you’ll find in Thailand, Indonesia, or China.
    Another worthwhile stop is a silk textile workshop or showroom, where you can see firsthand how Vietnamese silk is woven and dyed. These visits provide a cultural insight and also the chance to purchase high-quality silk products at excellent value. Both experiences are easy to arrange through your hotel or guide and can be included in a half-day tour.
